What to expect from your first visit

If you are new to Oncology massage, here are a few answers to questions you may have:

Q ~ Do I need to fill out a form?

A ~ Yes. Prior to your first visit, you will need to complete a Treatment Registration Form that you can download here. You can print it out and complete it in advance of our appointment or if you prefer we can fill it in together during your first appointment.

I will discuss the details you have provided during our initial consultation so that we can decide on the most beneficial course of massage for you. Your first visit may take up to an additional 30 minutes to ensure we have a full medical history ~ you will not be rushed.

Q ~ Do I have to get undressed?

A ~ That depends on the area we have chosen to massage and the type of massage chosen. For most sessions I suggest that you undress to your level of comfort. You will be covered at all times and I only uncover the area that I am working on.

Q ~ Can I talk during the treatment?

A ~  It is your time, so choose whatever works best for you. I will adapt to your preference.

Q ~ What about afterwards?

A ~ My recommendation is to keep yourself well hydrated. Try to keep a low-stress schedule for the remainder of the day in order to maximise the benefits of your massage. That said, many clients report feeling quite energised, refreshed and ready to take on the day. Listen to your body and let it guide you.
